Alexis Marie Foust – No Longer Missing

Northern Kentucky University student Murry Foust, whose legal name is Alexis Marie Foust, was reported missing to the Covington Police Department early Thursday morning around 3 a.m. They were last seen on April 27 at approximately 5:30 p.m. while heading to class and have not been seen since. According to Covington Police, the situation did not initially meet the requirements for a formal missing persons report.

Friend Charlie King shared a Facebook post Thursday morning asking the public to help look for Foust. In the post, King stated that Foust’s vehicle was discovered parked about a block away from their apartment in the Latonia area of Covington, near Decoursey Avenue. Their bag was later located at NKU, while their cellphone was reportedly found inside their apartment during a police search.

“Murry has never done anything like this before and seemed to be in good spirits before disappearing,” King said.

King also emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that Foust takes medication and has documented mental health conditions. “This behavior is completely out of character for Foust, and everyone who knows them is extremely worried,” King said.

Foust is described as a 22-year-old Caucasian individual standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with shoulder-length black dyed hair, choppy bangs and brown eyes. Distinctive tattoos include a geometric striped design on one elbow, a ram skull on the upper arm and an image of a crucified Jesus on one shin.

Covington Police detectives continue to actively search the Latonia neighborhood where Foust lives.

In a statement provided to The Northerner, NKU Chief Communications Officer Corey Best said:

“Northern Kentucky University is aware that one of our students, Murry (Alexis) Foust, has been reported missing. Our thoughts are with their family, friends and all those impacted. The Covington Police Department is leading the investigation, and we are fully cooperating and supporting their efforts. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Covington Police.”

The Northerner stated it will continue monitoring the case and provide updates as new information becomes available.

My Investigation

On May 9th, the Covington police department started a search in the Latonia forest area by the Licking River. Along with a community using the CalTopo app to track where people have searched. I went to Latonia and walked the same streets Murry Foust had. I went into local shops and every one had a flyer with photos and information on Murry. I went to when Murry was last seen-Latonia neighboorhood off of Decoursey Pike. I had also went to NKU for their 2026 graduation while I was down that way. During the commencement ceremony, NKU and the university community held a moment of silence in their honor.

On May 11, I contacted an online friend of Murry’s and asked if they had any information. The only response I received was regarding Murry’s Instagram account. Their most recent Instagram post stood out from the others — comments had been disabled, and the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John was tagged in the post. This contributed to my theory that Murry may have left willingly. At this point, I believe Murry may have traveled from Kentucky into Ohio using routes that avoided traffic cameras.

On May 12, 2026, I reached out to Charlie King and asked several detailed questions about the case. Charlie was unable to answer most of them, stating, “I know some answers, but I’m not incredibly sure.” Charlie also said, “I’m pretty sure his boyfriend saw him last.”

I later asked Charlie for the boyfriend’s Instagram account, and he provided me with the link. However, the account is private. Although the profile picture has since been updated, my follow request still has not been accepted.

A few days later in the Murry Foust Missing Information Facebook group Jennifer Heise Foust made a comment about the dogs the police used to search the woods and by the river. She said that the dogs had picked up Murrys scent by the Licking river.

Update May 25, 2026

The body of Murry (Alexis) Foust has been located in Wilder by an independently organized search party.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Foust family and their loved ones during this difficult time and ask that their privacy be respected as they grieve.
